Three Women for Ethiopia

Empress Menen, Haile Selassie I's royal consort, was an advocate for peace and diplomacy in war-time, and an advocate for women's education and rights in peace-time. Empress Menen's works and deeds are a key inspiration for the Rastafari faith.
In fact, it was not only men who took part in the struggle for Ethiopian sovereignty. In Ethiopia, ordinary women took part in the battles against Mussolini's fascist invasion. And outside of Ethiopia, women took on crucial roles in the campaign against Italian aggression.
